The commerce ministry on Monday stated it has began a COVID-19 helpdesk to assist resolve problems with exporters and importers pertaining to worldwide commerce comparable to customs clearance delays and banking issues.
The Directorate Common of International Commerce (DGFT), an arm of the ministry, took this initiative to observe the standing of exports and imports, and difficulties being confronted by commerce stakeholders in view of the surge in COVID-19 circumstances.
“DGFT has accordingly operationalised a ‘COVID-19 Helpdesk’ to assist and search appropriate resolutions to points arising in respect of worldwide commerce,” the ministry stated.
It added that the helpdesk would look into points referring to import and export licensing, customs clearance delays and complexities arising thereon, import/export documentation, and banking issues.
