Fidelity Ausbil WaveStone Expand Teams with New Hires

Fund managers have made a series of appointments across their investment and distribution teams.

Fidelity adds equities specialist from T. Rowe Price

Fidelity International has appointed Tamzin Manning as investment director, a role focused on growing its fundamental equities business in Australia. Manning arrives from T. Rowe Price, where she was vice president and senior portfolio specialist.

She will collaborate with portfolio managers, clients, and distribution partners to provide investment insights for Fidelity’s Australian and global equities products. Simon Glazier, managing director for Australia at Fidelity, described her as a strong addition due to her combination of investment knowledge and client experience.

“Australia remains a strategically important market for Fidelity, and we remain committed to investing in our people and capabilities locally,” Glazier said. “Tamzin’s appointment strengthens our equities franchise and enhances our ability to support clients with high-quality investment expertise and insights.”

Ausbil bolsters research and distribution teams

Ausbil has made two key appointments, hiring Andrew Donlan as an Australian equity analyst and promoting Beyhan Irmako to portfolio manager for small and micro-cap stocks. Donlan begins on September 10, having previously worked as a senior investment analyst at Bennelong Australian Equity Partners.

Paul Xiradis, Ausbil’s executive chairman and chief investment officer, said Donlan’s sector experience and analytical skills would enhance the depth of the firm’s proprietary research and strengthen the insights that inform its investment decisions.

“Andrew’s analytical capability, diverse sector experience and knowledge of the industry make him a strong addition to Ausbil’s equities team,” Xiradis said. “Beyhan has made an outstanding contribution to the Small & MicroCap team and has continued to expand his investment and portfolio management responsibilities. His promotion is well deserved and strengthens the continuity and depth of the capability.”

The firm also recently brought in Sophie Metcalfe as business development manager for Victoria and Tasmania, where she will develop and service Ausbil’s relationships with financial advisers, licensees, dealer groups, private wealth firms and other wholesale clients. Metcalfe joins from Antipodes.

WaveStone taps former Solaris manager for equities role

WaveStone has recruited Charles Story as director and portfolio manager. Story spent the past 14 years at Solaris Capital as a portfolio manager and earlier worked at Goldman Sachs in its London, Singapore, and Tokyo offices.

Raaz Bhuyan, a director and portfolio manager at WaveStone, said Story’s hiring supports the firm’s goal of attracting talent who can grow with the company and deliver on its commitment to active investing that achieves competitive, long-term performance for clients.
